Legacy Preparatory Senior Signs Letter of Intent

Legacy Preparatory Christian Academy (Legacy Prep) senior, Ryan May, recently signed a letter of intent with Sam Houston State University (SHSU). May will graduate on May 19, 2017 from Legacy Prep and will be playing football for SHSU in the fall. He was recruited to play outside linebacker for the Bearkats.

Legacy Prep is a University-Model School (UMS) in The Woodlands, Texas comprised of grades pre-kindergarten through 12th. The school prepares students to be successful in college and life by providing a rigorous academic background that is rich in opportunities. Legacy Prep is a Christ-centered school that creates college-worthy, character witnesses for Christ.

“Sam Houston has an excellent football program, and I am excited to be able to contribute to their success,” said Ryan May.

May attended Legacy Prep for twelve years and was active in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. He received 1st team all-district offensive and defensive lineman in 11th and 12th grades. May was also a nominee for the Touchdown Club Ironman Award.

Legacy Prep Athletic Director Nash Murray stated, “Ryan May is a natural born leader on and off the playing field. He is a tremendous athlete and has pioneered several of the sports programs offered here at Legacy. I know Ryan will go on to do great things at Sam Houston, and we will always enjoy the times he returns to Legacy as an alumni.”

According to Brandon May, Ryan’s father, “Ryan is a hard worker and fierce competitor. His mom and I are proud of his efforts to succeed not only on the field but in the classroom. We are looking forward to watching him push himself to be as successful at Sam as he has been at Legacy Prep.”

Ryan May added, “I have been blessed with a strong support system including my family, friends and coaches. Hopefully, I will make them proud. Eat’em Up, Kats!”
