Innovate Academy is a unique learning community whereby like-minded parents, mentors, and local leaders are committed to the spiritual formation of young scholars through a collaborative model of education that combines onsite, at home, and service to community learning.
Our mission is to engage the whole child through a head, heart, and hands approach to learning in order to shape thoughtful, passionate, and entrepreneurial leaders of culture.
We combine onsite, at home, and service to community learning. During the week, four days are spent onsite at our school facility in Chadds Ford under the auspices of Calvary Chapel of Delaware County (www.ccdelco.com). We provide a full, five-day curriculum and user friendly online learning platform for young scholars to engage with parents and mentors during at-home, satellite days.
Responsible For: Managing the business, growth, and daily operations of a four-day Classical, University-Model, Christian school (PreK-8th Grade) and supervising all teaching staff.
The Head of School is the chief academic officer, appointed to implement the vision/mission and educational operating policies of the school. Accountable to the Church and Director of Education, the Head of School is the spiritual and educational director who provides day-to-day direction and operational practices that represent a consistent and effective model of integrity, efficiency, and accountability. In addition, the Head of School performs and/or directs all other duties as, from time to time, may be assigned by the School’s Working or Advisory Board.
Publicly professes to be a believer in Jesus Christ and has a lifestyle that reflects maturity and intimacy with God coupled with a strong, clear testimony.
Possesses personal humility.
Leads in a godly manner and is a servant-leader whose conduct exemplifies Biblical principles.
Committed to the mission of achieving excellence by education for the students, spiritually, morally, and academically through cultivating Christian values and promoting Christian service.

The minimum education requirement is a Master’s degree in education administration/supervision or the equivalent; an MBA is a plus, but not required.
Has a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in educational administration.
Familiarity with Classical or University-Model education, preferably both.
Demonstrates supervisory leadership.
Can grow Innovate Academy and potentially launch multi-sites globally.

Duties and Responsibilities
Educational Leadership and School Management
Structure and implement a planning process designed to provide a sound and relevant educational experience for students.
Leads the school in a way that invokes respect as a Christian institution serving the community.
Audits all academic, extra curricular, and student programs to achieve a complete, classical, UM, Christian educational experience.
Establishes and promotes goals for faculty and staff that result in optimal student outcomes.
Recruits teaching and administrative personnel whose philosophies match those of the school.
Develops and applies strategies to improve faculty and staff professional development, salaries, and benefits.
Develops and maintains a consistent, positive system for evaluating teachers, strengthening the curriculum, and encouraging growth.
Produces an environment conducive to spiritual and educational growth and achievement.
Enhances the academic offerings of the school through virtual and technological offerings.
Remains current on educational trends.
Serves as the primary spokesperson for the school.
Is committed to maintaining excellent relationships with parents, faculty, staff, donors, students, school board, and Administrative Team of the school.
Promotes a warm Christ-centered atmosphere within the school.
Provides leadership in curriculum development and implementation.
Provides strong, collaborative leadership to ensure consensus on future direction.
Is involved in the daily life and activities of students by recognizing achievements and sharing in problems and concerns.
Promotes the unique Innovate Academy model and brand.
Pursues accreditation with desired agencies and maintains compliance with accreditation standards.
Establishes objectives and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal agencies and guidelines.
Ensures collaboration and cooperation with facilities management and other facility users as it relates to the physical use and maintenance of the school’s buildings and grounds.
Develops, maintains, and updates as required, a School Safety Plan (Crisis Management).
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Implements and establishes school policies and collaboratively reviews and makes recommendations to the school board.
Communicates with the school board fully as needed as they affect educational and administrative operations.
Reviews and approves PTF efforts.
Monitors, supports, and guides the activities of parent volunteer groups.
Collaboratively establishes and meets performance goals and objectives of the school board.
Advancement and Fundraising
Plans and optimizes the school’s fundraising programs such as the annual fund, capital campaigns, planned giving, and major events.
Supervises the schools development efforts in identifying, cultivating, thanking, and communicating with past and prospective donors.
Oversees the development and maintenance of the database, communications programs, and special events.
Supervises all volunteer efforts such as those donated by individuals or the parents’ association, booster clubs, alumni council, etc., all of which report to the head of school or his/her designee.
