The big news in the Business/Finance world stems from NAUMS’ recently completed Strategic Planning Retreat. Several heavy hitters, i.e., individuals with strong backgrounds in business and finance, gathered from across the UMSI footprint to brainstorm around challenges and opportunities facing our organization over the next few years. Many exciting ideas arose from our discussion. Without going into detail, we agreed on several principles and possible strategies. For example, here is an idea that seems to enter my thought processes regularly: Every decision—whether academic, student activities, character development (spiritual formation/family ministry), or program support—has a financial impact.
