Veritas Academy, a private, classical, Christian, University-Model school located in southwest Austin, is looking to hire a part-time Human Resources Assistant.

Position Overview: The Human Resources Assistant will support the Human Resources Manager in serving the existing and prospective faculty, staff, and administration of Veritas Academy, by providing administrative and project assistance.

Responsibilities:

Assist with recruitment of prospective faculty and staff.
Perform reference checks.
Assist with the benefits renewal process.
Assist with communication of, and compliance with policies and procedures outlined in the Veritas Employment Handbook.
Maintain employment records for all faculty, staff, substitute teachers and coaches.
Assist in compliance of federal and state labor laws.
Maintain and update the Employment Handbook.
Assist with creation and distribution of annual employee offer letters
Coordinate annual CPR recertification for faculty and staff.
Facilitate the onboarding process, ensuring new employees have all necessary resources before starting work at Veritas.
Required qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and e-mail and the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Ability to remain organized, prioritize, and manage time while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with integrity and professionalism at all times.
Ability to anticipate needs and create effective solutions.
Must be dependable, cheerful and have a service-mindset.
Involvement in a local church and wholehearted agreement with Veritas Academy’s Statements on Faith, Life and Conduct.

Required education and experience:

High School Diploma and 2+ experience in a related role. Bachelor’s degree and experience in an educational setting preferred.
